Mailrooms can be engineered to provide continuous or after-hours decontamination of surfaces, and mail disinfection equipment can be provided on request. Mail disinfection systems are available that include UVGI surface irradiation of mail and packages, ozone-based surface disinfection systems, and exhaust hoods with filtration and UVGI to protect workers. Area disinfection can be effected through the use of upper air UVGI systems and after-hours UVGI systems. Protocols for mail handling can be provided.
